    Ontario County Launches
    New Recycling Website

    Do you sorta recycle?

Do you try to separate things like plastic, glass, paper electronics, and chemicals, but you’re not always sure what can safely go where? In response to the community-wide recycling survey distributed in March 2017, Ontario County has launched a new website to help residents sort out their recycling and waste diversion habits.

“As we move forward with the implementation of our Local Solid Waste Management Plan we are excited to serve as a central location where residents within the County can go to find answers to their responsible waste handling questions. Look for expanded content in the coming year, as we seek to include more information on material reuse and repair options, as well as collection events.” stated Associate Planner, Carla Jordan.

Those interested, can visit OntarioCountyRecycles.org to find information on:

    • Residential recycling (aka what goes in your “blue bin”)
    • How to recycle non-bin items (appliances, batteries, etc.)
    • Special collection events
    • Frequently asked questions
    • The landfill
    • Local haulers & transfer stations
    • Methods for contacting the county
    • And more!
