The Ontario County Office for the Aging contracts with Experience Works to administer the Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP). This program, funded under Title V of the Older Americans Act as well as state and local grants to help low income older adults find jobs.

The goal of SCSEP is to provide useful part-time community service assignments for persons with low-income who are 55 years of age and older while promoting the transition to unsubsidized employment.

The Senior Community Service Employment Program provides benefits to participants and to the broader community.

  • When an eligible person enrolls in the program, he/she earns a wage while learning necessary job skills and good work habits
  • When the trainee is placed in a community service agency, the community benefits from the expansion of services that agency can provide.
  • When a trainee leaves the program for employment off the program, others have an opportunity to join the Senior Community Service Employment Program.
Participants are paid minimum wage for an average of 20 hours per week. To apply for a SCSEP employment call Experience Works at (866) 976-5039
